Rescue

The number of people successfully extricated from vehicles involved in highway accidents and from beneath the rubble of collapsed buildings is testimony to the skill, resourcefulness and courage of rescue personnel around the world. It is also a clear demonstration of the value of the sophisticated rescue equipment that is now available at the scene of traffic accidents and while conducting extensive and dangerous urban search and rescue operations.

Speed in these instances often can make the difference between life and death. This has clearly been at the forefront of the minds of rescue operation equipment designers, as has the need to devise solutions that can be relied upon to work in all sorts of hazardous environments, where access is restricted and space may be severely limited, with no electricity supply, or under conditions of virtual darkness.
